2022 International Alternative Processes

This international photography competition is open to all photographers age 18 or older, excluding members of Soho Photo Gallery. The juror is Ann Jastrab, Executive Director at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, California, with extensive experience in photography curation and exhibition.

Alternative processes include, but are not limited to: Albumen, Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown, Platinum/Palladium, Gum Bichromate, Bromoil, Salt Print, Tintype, Ziatype, Daguerreotype, Image Transfers, Liquid Emulsion, Photogravure, and Chemigram, as well as handmade prints created from digital negatives. Traditional Silver Gelatin Prints, C-Prints, and Digital Prints are not eligible. There is no limitation as to subject matter.

Entry fee is $45.00, with an additional $5.00 media fee for images beyond the first five. Submissions must include a minimum of 5 and maximum of 15 total samples, consisting of up to 15 images and up to 5 videos. Awards: 1st Place receives a workshop at Penumbra or $300, 2nd Place $200, and 3rd Place $100.
