2022 Great Northern Art Explosion

Artists are invited to submit original artwork for the 2022 Great Northern Art Explosion, the 4th annual GNAE international art exhibition. The juried show will be held at Artisan Village art gallery in downtown Grayling, Michigan, and offers over $10,000 in awards. Artists in all styles and mediums are welcome to apply with no specific theme required.

Eligibility: Open to artists 18 years or older. All artwork must be original in concept and execution. Work must have been completed in the last three years and not previously shown in any Great Northern Art Explosion exhibit. Maximum artwork size is 48 inches in width (including frame) and 108 inches in height. Artists in all media are encouraged to apply, including Oils, Acrylic, Watercolor, Photography, Mixed Media, Ceramics, Wood, Metal, Jewelry, Sculpture, and Fabric.

Submission Requirements: One image per category per entry (additional categories require separate entries). Entry fee is $40 for non-members or $30 for AuSable Artisan Village members. Submission deadline is July 23, 2022 at midnight EDT. Artwork must arrive by August 24, 2022. The exhibition opens with a members and artists only reception on August 26, 2022, and runs through the awards ceremony on September 11, 2022. Juror is Jaye Schlesinger. Awards include Juror's First Place ($2,500), Award of Excellence ($1,000), and Best of Category awards ($250 each for up to 2 categories with minimum 5 entries). People's Choice awards include First Place ($2,500), Second Place ($1,000), and Best of Category ($250 each). No artwork receives more than one award.
