2022 Artists of the Upstate Juried Exhibition

The 2022 Artists of the Upstate Juried Exhibition is a juried exhibition presented by Artisphere (supported by a grant from the Metropolitan Arts Council). It is open to artists 18+ living in Upstate South Carolina (Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenwood, Laurens, Cherokee, Union, Abbeville counties). Entries must be original works of art completed within the last three years. The exhibition is not judged in media categories and seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of Upstate South Carolina.

Due to potential construction on the festival site, the Artists of the Upstate exhibit may be virtual this year. Accepted artists will be featured on the Artisphere website and shared on Artisphere's social media channels. A non-refundable entry fee of $35 enables each artist to enter up to two works. Each image file must be in .jpg format and should not exceed 5 MB in size. All images must be correctly oriented. The deadline to apply is April 1, 2022, with notification of acceptance emailed on April 19, 2022.

Four cash prizes will be awarded: Best in Show ($1,000), 2nd Place ($750), 3rd Place ($500), and Merit Award ($250). The juror is Elizabeth Goddard, Executive Director at the Spartanburg Art Museum, who holds an MFA in art education with a concentration in contemporary museum practices and has over 20 years of experience in the arts education sector.
