2022 Artists Council Exhibition and Sale

The 2022 Artists Council Exhibition and Sale will be held February 11 – March 27, 2022, at the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert, California. The exhibition will be presented both in-person and virtually. Only current members of the Artists Council may apply.

Submissions are due by December 10, 2021, at 10:59 p.m. PST. The entry fee is $40 per application, with up to two artworks allowed (one artwork per application, for a total of $80). Submit 1-2 images of your work. Accepted artists will be notified by December 22, 2021. Artwork will be selected by three jurors: Melissa Russo (Director of the San Bernardino County Museum), Edina Adam (Assistant Curator of Drawing, J. Paul Getty Museum), and Daniel Foster (artist and Executive Director of the Shumway Ranch Artist-in-Resident Program). Monetary prizes will be awarded, including three jurors' awards and the Karen and Tony Barone Award for Sculpture ($1,500).

All artwork must be available for sale at a price between $500 and $10,000. Proceeds will be split 50% to the artist and 50% to the Artists Council. Artwork may be 2- or 3-dimensional. Two-dimensional work must be framed, with maximum dimensions of 60" high by 48" wide and minimum of 12" on any side. Three-dimensional work cannot exceed 50 pounds or 72" high by 48" wide by 48" deep, with a minimum of 6" x 6" x 6". Artwork must be original, created within the past three years, and not previously exhibited at any Artists Council exhibition. Artists accepted to the show must work one 3-hour shift during the exhibition. Artwork must remain on display for the entire exhibition period and cannot be withdrawn once accepted.
