2022 Art Ability at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital

Art Ability is dedicated to creating community awareness of cognitive and physical disabilities, encouraging people with disabilities to reach beyond their limitations and find fulfillment and inspiration through art. The program provides positive role models for people with disabilities while increasing their access to the arts and developing new markets for artists with disabilities to gain recognition for their technical skill and artistic vision.

The annual exhibit and sale will be on display at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital in Malvern, Pennsylvania, from November 6, 2022 to January 29, 2023 and will be open to the public based on current visitor policies. An in-person Kick-Off Celebration is planned for the first week of November.

Eligible artists must have physical, cognitive, visual, or hearing disabilities. Work must have been created after the onset of a disability or injury and within the last five years. All works must be original and for sale; art previously exhibited in Art Ability is not eligible. Acceptable media include painting, watercolor, drawing, fine printmaking, photography, mixed media, sculpture (under 25 lbs.), jewelry, fine crafts, and functional art. No dimension should be less than 13" or more than 48" including the frame, and each piece cannot exceed 25 lbs. in weight. Nudes and dark subject matter will not be accepted. Artists should submit up to 6 separate works through the CaFE website with one JPEG image per work. There is no entry fee. All selected works must be sent ready for display with appropriate framing and finishing as specified in the guidelines.
