2021 Summer Exhibitions & Artist Residency | Mexico City

Proyectos Galería (PRPG.mx) is a Dab Art Co. satellite gallery located in Colonia Juárez, Mexico City. Housed in a 2-story former residence with 3,000 square feet of combined exhibition space, the gallery features contemporary display walls and is curated exclusively by Dab Art Co. curator Michael Swank. The program focuses on artists and artwork within (but not limited to) the LGBTQ+ community.

Artists selected for exhibition will also receive a one-week virtual artist residency designed to connect globally, create discipline for studio practice, and provide a unified voice for artists' experiences. Accepted artwork includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Proposals may include multiple disciplines.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each (maximum 20 images). An optional consultation with the curator is available for $75, including in-depth review of submissions, website, social media, biography, and artist statement, with feedback limited to 1 hour via Zoom. All work must be original, unsold, and owned solely by the artist. 2D artwork selected for exhibition must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. No packing peanuts are permitted; all shipments must include prepaid UPS or FedEx return labels. The gallery retains a 50% commission on all sales. Payment to artists is provided within 60 days after the exhibit concludes and receipt of full payment from the buyer. Notifications are sent via email within 2 weeks after the close of each calendar month. Early applications are encouraged as exhibition considerations are made weekly.
