2021 Sculpture Exhibition

Call for entries from regional sculptors in Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and Nebraska. The exhibition runs from May 19 to October 23, 2021.

Applications are open to professional, student, and amateur sculptors of all backgrounds over the age of 18 residing or working in Iowa or surrounding states. Up to two entries may be submitted per artist. All work must be original in concept, composition, and execution. Sculptures must be of sound construction able to withstand exposure to the elements and unsupervised interaction, be maintenance-free for the duration of the exhibition, and not present a safety risk to the public. Artworks cannot exceed a sales value of $25,000. Seven sculptures will be selected and judged on artistic merit, creativity, innovation, technical skill, and imagination.

Each selected artist will retain ownership of their work and receive an $800 stipend for the loan of their artwork, payable after installation is completed and inspected by Clear Lake Art Center staff. Pieces can be sold at any time during the exhibition but must remain in place for the duration. A 25% commission of any piece sold will go to the Clear Lake Arts Center to support next year's exhibition. Selected artists must be available to install their work between May 11-18, 2021. No equipment or assistance is provided for installation. Submit 3-5 images of your work.
