About This Call

The Keller Public Arts Board is seeking five sculptures for the Old Town Keller Rotating Sculpture Program. Sculptures must be appropriate for public viewing and support the family-friendly atmosphere of the City of Keller. All works must be original, and artists must reside in Texas.

Sculptures will be loaned to the exhibit for a two-year period and remain under the artist's ownership. Pieces must be made of materials that can withstand harsh Texas weather and require no maintenance by the City of Keller. All sculptures must be "family appropriate" with no sexual, bloody, or violent content. Sculptures must fit on existing 5'x5' concrete pads with a maximum height of 12' and maximum weight of 2,500 pounds. Pieces sold while on display may be removed, but the artist must replace the artwork with a different sculpture, with Board approval, within 60 days of removal.

Each selected artist will receive a $1,500 honorarium for installation, exhibition, and removal over the two-year period. Half of the stipend will be provided upon selection and the remainder upon successful installation. One Best in Show winner will receive an additional $500. The Old Town Keller West area is located on the west side of U.S. Highway 377 near the city's border with Fort Worth. The Keller Public Arts Board has sole discretion on site selection for each sculpture. Sculptures must be ready for installation no later than June 1, 2020. Submit one sculpture per application with a maximum of 5 applications per artist. Applications require a résumé, artist statement (1,000-word maximum), and sculpture description (1,000-word maximum) including title, media, dimensions, weight, year completed, purchase price, installation information, and details on current and future copies. Contact [email protected] or 817-743-4000 with questions.
