2021 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

The Seventh Annual NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Art Exhibition will be held at Wildwood Library, 763 Stillwater Road in Mahtomedi, Minnesota from September 23 to November 5, 2021. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older. Entry fees are $40 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members and $50 for non-members, with each submission including up to three images. The entry deadline is midnight, August 1, 2021.

Accepted entries are limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Work must be wholly original and not previously exhibited in any NorthStar Watermedia Society exhibition. Maximum size is 42 inches in any direction with a maximum depth of 3 inches, including the frame. All paintings must be framed or mounted and wired for hanging; sawtooth hangers are not permitted. Entries may not use pastel, oil pastel, wax crayon, water-soluble oil, alcohol inks, computer-generated images, or any form of print reproduction.

NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $3,000 in cash plus non-cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1,250), 2nd Place ($1,000), 3rd Place ($750), and named awards with additional cash or product awards. The juror is Chris Harrison, a visual artist, illustrator, and graphic designer based in Minneapolis. Acceptance notifications will be sent on August 17, 2021. All artwork displayed in the exhibition will be available for viewing on the NorthStar website. NorthStar retains 15% commission on any sold artwork.
