2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition

The Baltimore Watercolor Society is hosting the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition, running June 12-August 31, 2021. The exhibition will be presented online at baltimorewatercolorsociety.org, blackrockcenter.org, and the BWS Facebook page.

Eligibility: All BWS Signature and Life members may enter regardless of residence. Other artists must be 18 years or older and reside in Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia. Entries must be original watermedia paintings on natural or synthetic paper, paperboard, clayboard, or equivalent, completed within the last five years and not previously exhibited in prior BWS Mid-Atlantic exhibitions. No class or workshop paintings, copies, or likenesses of other artists' work. Compositions based on photographs must use photos taken by or owned by the artist. Minimum dimension on any side visible within the mat: 10 inches. Frames must not exceed 48 inches in height or width.

Submit one or two images; only one entry will be selected for exhibition. Entry fee: $35 for non-members, $30 for BWS members (with coupon code). Optional catalog donation: $5. Deadline: April 9, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Notification to artists: May 10, 2021. Awards total approximately $10,000, including Gold Medal ($1,500), Silver Medal ($1,200), and Bronze Medal ($1,000). All entrants receive a limited edition catalog. Juror: Anne Abgott, AWS/NWS. Online workshop: June 21, 22, and 24, 2021.
