About This Call
The 2021 Hi-Art Exhibit is a combination of virtual and live exhibition in the Tubac Center of the Arts front gallery. Selected award winners will be presented at the opening on Friday, April 9, 2021. The annual Hi-Art exhibit offers high school students an opportunity to professionally present their artwork, share and sell their art with the community and visitors to the Tubac Center of the Arts.
High school students may submit one image of original artwork created during the 2020-2021 school year. Artwork may be for sale with the price determined by the artist, who will receive 100 percent of the sale. TCA does not take a commission on student art. All wall art, printmaking, drawings, and paintings must be framed and wired for hanging to qualify for inclusion in the exhibition. No sawtooth hangers are permitted.
Senior students are encouraged to apply for consideration of a $1,000 college scholarship. Additional awards include Best of Show ($300), Award of Excellence ($200), Award of Merit ($100), and Honorable Mention ($75). The exhibition runs from April 9 to May 2, 2021. By applying, artists agree to release the use of images of their artwork and themselves for promotional use by Tubac Center of the Arts for future Hi-Art exhibits, general promotions, and as a permanent record of the exhibit.
