About This Call
The 2021 Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Design Awards recognize outstanding architectural design work across four categories: Architecture, Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse, Projects (unbuilt architecture, planning, urban design, and research), and Emerging Architects (Associates, students, and Architects licensed under ten years).
Eligibility varies by category. AIA Peconic members may submit projects located anywhere in the world. AIA Peconic members assigned to the chapter and any registered architects may submit projects within the chapter's geographic boundaries. Projects that have previously won an AIA Peconic award are not eligible. Awards will be given at the jury's discretion, including Honor Awards, Merit Awards, Juror Awards, and a People's Choice Award.
Submissions must include a project outline description (500 words or less) addressing how the project addresses issues of time and place, and up to 15 high-resolution images (.jpeg or .pdf at 300 dpi) including a site plan with a north arrow. All submissions are anonymous and must be completed online by 5:00 PM on October 23, 2020. The awards symposium will be held virtually on January 9, 2021.
