2021 Annual Holiday Gift Gallery & Co Shop

The Contemporary Dayton is accepting applications for the 2021 Annual Holiday Gift Gallery with three options for artists to apply. Option 1 is the Holiday Gift Gallery, a premier fine art and fine craft professional gallery show and sale in the region with an opening reception on Thursday, November 18. Option 2 is the 2021 Limited Edition Holiday Ornament, where a small selection of unique ornaments will be hand-picked by The Co team to be part of the Limited Edition collection and priced between $10-$25. Option 3 is The CoSHOP, a new retail experience located inside Dayton's newly renovated Arcade featuring curated fine craft, art books, letterpress cards, and curious objects made by Ohio artists.

The Co seeks to exhibit work of the highest level of craftsmanship, originality, and contemporary style. All work must be structurally sound, safe, non-toxic, and fit for its intended use. Mass-produced, cluttered, or commercial appearances are avoided. The Co curates displays and reserves the right to adjust displays weekly. Small, creative item description tags are encouraged, and The Co produces inventory bar code stickers to be placed on the bottom or back of objects. All gallery sales during the Gift Gallery run must be administered through The Co.

Eligibility is open to all artists in the Ohio region ages 18 and up who are the maker, designer, creator, and producer of their work. The Co's Exhibition & Program Committee will jury submissions based on level of craftsmanship, originality, and contemporariness. Items such as country crafts, commercially molded or kit-made items, commercially manufactured clothing or household items with artist embellishment, dried flower wreaths, and alphabet photography will not be considered. Limited multiples of ornaments and other small items are encouraged but generally should not exceed 10 of the same item. Application fee is $10 for non-members; members apply free.
