2021 Abstract Only! 11th Annual Multimedia National Juried Competition

This is a national juried exhibition for abstract artwork in all mediums (2D and 3D). Open to all US national and Hawaii-based artists. Maximum of five entries per artist.

Entry fee is $15 non-refundable per artwork submitted, with an additional $15 media fee. Submissions must include 1-5 images. For 3D work, submitting multiple photos as a collage showing different angles is recommended. The submission window closes Friday, July 9 at 5:59 p.m. HST. Artist notification is Monday, July 12.

Drop-off of accepted artwork at Wailoa Center (200 Piopio St., Hilo, Hawaii) is Saturday, July 31 between 10:00am-12:00pm. Kona pickup is available Friday, July 30 at 10:00am at the Donkey Mill. Off-island work must be received by Friday, July 30. Artists are financially responsible for shipping to and from Wailoa Center and must include a prepaid return label and $10 handling fee. The exhibition opens Friday, August 6 with an open house from 1:00pm-6:00pm and closes Thursday, August 26. Artists must pick up work Friday, August 27 between 10:00am-1:00pm (Donkey Mill artwork return at 10:00am). Juror is Kasey Lindley. Monetary prizes will be awarded. Works are required to be for sale, with HIAA charging 20% commission on all sales. Abstract Only! has applied for the State Foundation for Culture and Arts Acquisition Award Selection Committee to review the exhibit.
