About This Call
The League for Innovation's Student Art Awards competition, now in its 36th year, enables community college students to compete with their peers across North America and showcases a selection of the best work being created by today's community college students.
Students currently enrolled in art classes at a League Board Member College are eligible to enter. Each college will nominate 5 artworks by 5 different student artists for submission to the international competition. All types of art media are eligible, including 3D work. Selected artists may submit 1 digital image for 2D work, 2 digital images for 3D work, 1 video file, or 1 audio file via the CaFÉ online submission manager. Image files must be JPEG or JPG, under 5MB with a minimum of 1200 pixels on the longest side. Audio files must be AIFF, WAV, XMF, or MP3, under 10MB with a minimum bit rate of 96. Video files must be 3GP, WMV, AVI, MOV, ASF, MPG, MP4, M2T, MKV, or M2TS, under 100MB with a minimum resolution of 640 x 480 and minimum 12 fps. A short written statement of 50 words or less regarding the submitted artwork is required and will be published in the exhibition catalog.
Awards include Best of Show ($800), Second Place ($350), Third Place ($200), and three Juror's Choice awards ($100 each). Certificates of merit will recognize all students whose works are submitted to the international competition, and their artwork will be included in the competition catalog. Jurors are Vicki Meek, Vivian Li, and Benito Huerta. Contact Alison Starr at [email protected] or 214-860-3649 for more information.
