2021-2022 Cultural Council Solo Gallery Exhibition

The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County welcomes Palm Beach County-based artists to apply for a solo exhibition in its gallery for a six-week period between October 2021 and July 2022. Each artist may request their top three preferred months; the Council will make every effort to match artists with their choices but cannot guarantee preferred dates. All artists must be Palm Beach County residents.

Artists must submit between five and seven files of images, sound, or video of existing artwork, along with biographic information and an exhibition proposal not exceeding 500 words. The proposal must include the proposed number, dimensions, and medium of works to be included, describe the series of work, explain the amount of work already produced, and provide a timeline for completion. All visual media are accepted. Joint proposals are accepted as one submission with up to three artists participating and one artist as primary contact. The gallery space is approximately 13' W x 33' L x 10' H with two moveable walls (approximately 8' H x 8' wide) with numerous configurations.

Artists will be selected by a committee comprised of artists, visual art professionals, and Cultural Council representatives. Six weeks prior to the exhibition, selected artists must provide high-resolution images of each work and signed loan documentation. All artwork must be delivered ready to install in the week preceding the exhibition. All artwork will be for sale with the artist retaining 75% of sales proceeds; the remaining 25% supports the Artist Services program and exhibitions. The Cultural Council provides a dedicated Artist Services Coordinator, announcement postcard, opening reception for up to 50 guests, website and newsletter inclusion, exhibition signage, and social media promotion. Artists chosen in 2021-2022 may not apply for another solo exhibition opportunity for three years from their exhibition date but may continue to participate in group exhibitions.
