2020/21 Studio & Residence Opportunity

A.I.R. Studio Paducah is an artist-in-residence studio and efficiency apartment located in the Lower Town Arts District in Paducah, Kentucky. Over 100 artists from North America have participated in residencies since 2004, with stays ranging from 2 weeks to 3 months. The program welcomes self-motivated, focused artists age 21 and above working in visual arts, photography, architecture, literary arts, improvisational movement, choreography, and composing. Collaborative pairs and couples are welcome. Artists are encouraged to have a clear objective for their residency.

The facility combines a light-saturated studio with high ceilings, large walls, skylights, worktables, shelving, utility sink, and rear dock. A storefront gallery space is available for residents who wish to exhibit their work. The furnished efficiency apartment includes a sleeping area, complete kitchen, small dining area, and bathroom with shower. Appliances include electric range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Linens, cookware, coffee maker, and tableware are provided. Free high-speed wifi is available. The grounds feature a side patio and sculpture garden. The front entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Residency fees are $550 per two-week period or $875 per month, with utilities included. The application fee is $25, and a $100 security deposit is required at the start of the residency. Available 2020 dates begin January 1 and end December 31. Applicants must submit applications through the CaFE website with work samples (0-10 images required). The deadline for 2020 residency applications is October 12 at midnight Mountain Time. Applicants will be notified of their application status two weeks after receipt.
