About This Call
2020 Vision seeks artwork responding to the past 12 months—including the beginning of 2021—reflecting on how artists have seen themselves and the world through unprecedented challenges. Submit work addressing losses or struggles, tales of survival, revelations or lessons learned, actions to materialize change, quiet meditations or reflections, or acknowledgement of simple pleasures amidst stress. All perspectives on this past year's convergence of challenges are welcome.
Eligibility: US artists working in any media, including video (3 minutes or shorter). Entries must be original work not previously shown at Cabrillo Gallery. Submit up to 3 entries for $30 (discount available for Cabrillo students). Submissions due February 28, 2021 at 10:59 Pacific Time. Acceptance/Awards announced March 13, 2021. Submit professional quality JPEG images (minimum 2000 pixels on shortest side, maximum 5MB), brief statements about each artwork, titles, year completed, media, dimensions (inches H x W x D), and price or NFS.
Selected works will be exhibited online at Cabrillo Gallery March 22–April 16, 2021. Three cash awards will be presented: $300, $200, and $100. Juror: Eleanor Harwood, curator and owner of Eleanor Harwood Gallery in San Francisco.
