20/20 Vision, Art Works Downtown

20/20 Vision is an exhibition celebrating Art Works Downtown's 20th year. The exhibition aims to recognize the organization's past, celebrate accomplishments, and herald visions for the future. Art Works Downtown invites all former and current studio artists and members to contribute by creating one wall-mounted artwork that is exactly 12x12 inches.

The exhibition is open by invitation only to Studio Artists, Artist Members, Alumni Studio Artists and Members, Board of Directors, Volunteers, and Apartment tenants. All visual arts media are welcome, though video must provide player and monitor and projections are prohibited. Original artwork only; reproductions and artworks previously exhibited in the 1337 Gallery are prohibited. Each artwork will be sold for $200 as a fundraiser, with sales split $100 to the artist and $100 to Art Works Downtown. Participating artists can purchase event tickets at the membership rate of $25 each (maximum two tickets). Entry is free.

Submissions must be exactly 12 inches by 12 inches and ready to hang. One work per artist. Apply through callforentry.org only; hardcopy, email, and disk submissions are not accepted. Entries are due Friday, July 22 at 4pm. Accepted work must be hand-delivered Saturday, September 17, 11am–4pm to Art Works Downtown, 1337 Fourth Street, San Rafael. The 20/20 Event is Saturday, September 24, 6:30–10pm. Receptions are Friday, October 14 and Friday, November 11, both 5–8pm. Unsold artwork can be picked up Saturday, November 12, 10am–4pm. Works remaining after 30 days become property of Art Works Downtown.
