2020 Spring Online Juried Show

The 2020 Spring Online Juried Show is open to American Women Artists (AWA) Associate and Associate with Distinction members in good standing with 2020 dues paid or renewed by March 16. Applicants may submit representational or abstract works in 2D or 3D formats, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media. 2D works must have been completed within the last two years. Accepted mediums include oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, egg tempera, encaustic, mixed mediums, and batik for painting; conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, pen & ink, scratchboard, and original hand-pulled prints for drawing; and cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, and fired permanent mediums for sculpture. Mixed media using these materials plus paper, fiber, or textiles is accepted. Not accepted are craft, jewelry, photography, video, digital prints, collage, or work containing computer-generated elements. Work must be original and not previously accepted for an AWA national juried competition or online juried show.

Applications are accepted January 13 – March 16, 2020, with finalists announced by April 9, 2020. Applicants may submit up to three images; maximum of one piece per accepted artist will be juried into the show. Entry fee is $40.00 for up to 3 images. Images must be at least 1200 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi (no larger than 5MB) in JPEG format, with no matting or framing unless integral to the work.

Awards include: Grand Prize ($2,000 cash plus merchandise), Second Prize ($500 cash plus merchandise), Third Prize ($300 cash plus merchandise), four Outstanding Achievement Awards in Still Life, Landscape, Figurative, and Sculpture ($200 cash each plus merchandise), and eight Awards of Merit ($50 cash each). All award winners receive national exposure on the AWA website, social media channels, and e-newsletter. The selection panel includes gallerist Tonya Turner Carroll (Turner Carroll Gallery, Santa Fe), sculptor Ellen Woodbury (Colorado), and painter Nadine Robbins (New York).
