About This Call
Open to artists over 18 residing in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. All media accepted, including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, drawings, mixed media, fiber, and sculpture.
One artist will be awarded a $10,000 grant to support artists with an existing body of spiritual art who have potential for further growth but lack the means to evolve due to insufficient external support or finances. The grant recipient's work will be featured in MOFSA's 2020 exhibit titled "Towards the Spiritual," which runs September 30 through October 28, 2020. Selected artists who submit for the grant will also share equally in $2,000 of additional awards. All artwork shown must be original and available for sale.
Applicants must submit digital images of 5 pieces of work, a statement addressing how art has changed you, the role of spirituality in your life, the role of art in transformation, how you plan to develop your art within your spiritual journey, and your thoughts for a new work to be created. A biography and website information (if available) are also required. Entry fee is $40, nonrefundable, paid by credit card, PayPal, or check. All 2D work must be suitably framed and properly wired for hanging; drawings, watercolors, and pastels on paper must be under Plexiglas. MOFSA receives 20% commission on all artworks sold during the exhibit or within 30 days following the close. Hand-delivered work must be picked up by the specified date; unsold shipped work will be returned via artist-supplied pre-paid label.
