About This Call
Remarque Print Workshop is offering a week-long printmaking residency in Albuquerque, NM. Two sessions are available: February 17-21 and March 16-20, 2020. Five artists will be accepted for each session, for a total of 10 residency positions.
Selected artists will have complete 24-hour access to the 3,000 square foot studio, which includes six Takach presses, Akua inks, exposure unit, plate cutter, and etching tanks (ferric chloride for copper plates only). Applicants are expected to have prior printmaking knowledge but need not be familiar with non-toxic Akua inks and etching processes. Artists must purchase their own paper, plates, and additional materials. Remarque does not provide food or lodging but can recommend affordable local rentals. The residency aims to provide printmakers with access to equipment and foster creative collaboration among artists from different regions.
To apply, submit 3-5 images of your artwork, a resume, and a short bio via CAFE. Also send a description (less than one page) of the project(s) you plan to work on during the residency, indicating whether you want to focus on creative exploration or work intensively on a particular project. Selected artists are asked to donate one print to the gallery and pay a $100 administrative fee. The application deadline is December 1, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Entry fee is $30. Contact: [email protected] or 505-268-8952.
