2020 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Art Exhibition

The Sixth Annual NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Art Exhibition will be held October 2-November 13, 2020 at Wildwood Library in Mahtomedi, Minnesota (763 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, MN 55115). The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older. Entry deadline is midnight, August 1, 2020. Entry fees are $40 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members and $50 for non-members, with each submission including up to three images. Artists may submit up to three paintings, but only one can be selected for the exhibition.

Accepted entries are limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Work must be wholly original and not previously exhibited in any NorthStar Watermedia Society exhibition. Maximum size is 42 inches in any direction with a maximum depth of 3 inches. All paintings must be framed or mounted and wired for hanging. Work must be suitable for a family audience and cannot include pastel, oil pastel, wax crayon, water-soluble oil, alcohol inks, computer-generated images, or print reproductions.

The juror is Nicole Watson, director of The Catherine G. Murphy Gallery at St. Catherine University. NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $4,000 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1,250), 2nd Place ($1,000), and 3rd Place ($750), plus named awards and additional cash/product awards. Acceptance notification will be sent August 18, 2020. The artist reception and awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2-4pm. NorthStar retains 15% commission on any sold artwork.
