2020 Mayor's Art Show

The City of Eugene invites artists who live or work in the City of Eugene to submit work for the juried Mayor's Art Show. In response to COVID-19, the exhibition is pivoting to online exhibitions with satellite art installations of selected artworks featured in vignettes throughout the city to be enjoyed at a safe distance. The exhibition will be held online and through small satellite installations from August 7, 2020 through September 4, 2020. Established, emerging, and student artists 18 and older are encouraged to apply. Submission is free.

Artists may submit one 2D, 3D, or digital artwork (digital must be self-contained and managed by the artist). Work must have been completed since January 1, 2018. For images, 2D work must include two images (including a detail image), and 3D work must include two to five images (including one detail image). A panel of artists and art professionals will review all applications. Artists will be notified of the jury's decision the week of July 1. Awards will be given based on conceptual strength, artistic merit, innovation, craftsmanship, and materials. Award categories are: Mayor's Choice, Juror's Choice, Peoples' Choice, and Curator's Choice.

This exhibition is open to all residents who live or work in the City of Eugene and artists who work or have exhibited in Eugene in the past. Those not selected by the jury for the Mayor's Art Show have the opportunity to participate in the Salon des Refusés. Artwork intake is scheduled for July 24 (10:00 AM-2:00 PM) and July 25 (3:00 PM-5:00 PM) at MJCR. The opening is August 7 with First Friday ArtWalk. Artwork pickup is September 9 & 10.
