About This Call

The Louisville Art Association invites artists to enter the 35th Annual National Juried 2020 Fine Art Show and Sale. The exhibition takes place at the Louisville Center for the Arts, a historic late 19th century red brick schoolhouse in Louisville, Colorado, from September 2-7, 2020. Exhibition hours are: September 2-4 (2pm-7pm), September 5 (10am-9pm), September 6 (10am-6pm), and September 7 (10am-4pm). The judge is Crystal Despain, a noted portrait artist and painter from Windsor, Colorado.

Eligibility: All artwork must be original in concept and execution, completed within the last two years, and not previously shown in this exhibition. Artists must be 18 years or older. All mediums are eligible except installation art. Work must not exceed 48" on any side including frame; sculptures must weigh less than 70 lbs, and non-sculpture work must weigh under 70 lbs. Pieces must be appropriate for general audiences. Entry fee is $40 for up to three entries; each additional entry is $10 (maximum six pieces). Submissions require 3-6 JPG images uploaded via CaFE.

Awards include: Best of Show/First Place ($600), 2nd Place ($400), 3rd Place ($250), Judge's Choice ($200), 10 Artistic Achievement Awards ($100 each), and 1 People's Choice Award ($200). All exhibited artwork must be for sale. The Louisville Art Association retains a 25% commission on all sales. Accepted artists must provide a brief biography (170 words or less) and complete an inventory sheet. Artists may display up to 5 matted bin works or cards for sale in supplied bins. An awards reception is scheduled for September 5 at 6pm-9pm with awards ceremony at 7pm. Entry deadline is July 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Accepted entries will be notified by July 20, 2020.
