2020 Juried Art Show

The Maria V. Howard Arts Center invites submissions for the 2020 Juried Art Show. Open to all U.S. artists 18 years of age or older working in any media except installation and video. Work must be original, executed within the past three years, and not previously exhibited at the Arts Center.

Artists may submit up to four works for a non-refundable $25 entry fee. Each artwork may be represented by only one digital image. Entry materials are due by February 21, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MST through CaFE. Accepted works must be delivered by April 17, 2020 to the Arts Center at 270 Gay Street, Rocky Mount, NC 27804. The exhibition opens May 1, 2020 and closes August 16, 2020.

Awards include: $1,500 Acquisition Award, $800 First Place Award, $500 Second Place Award, $250 Third Place Award, and $250 Best Rocky Mount Area Artist. The work selected for the Acquisition Award will become part of the Arts Center's Permanent Collection. Award winners will be selected by juror Susan Alta Martin after the exhibition is installed and announced at the Artist Reception on May 17, 2020 (tentative). The Arts Center will retain 40% commission on works sold. Accepted entries will be insured by the City of Rocky Mount from receipt until pick up for 60% of the retail price. All 3D work must stand alone without assistance. Artwork must not exceed 6 feet in any dimension and must be completely dry, framed, wired, and ready for hanging or otherwise suitably prepared for exhibition. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements.
