2020 Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Design Awards

The 2020 Daniel J. Rowen Memorial Design Awards recognizes outstanding architectural design work across four categories: Architecture (new buildings and major additions), Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse (restoration, remodeling, preservation, or repurposing of existing buildings), Projects (unbuilt architecture, planning, urban design, and research), and Emerging Architects (work by Associates, students, and architects licensed under ten years).

Eligibility includes AIA Peconic members who may submit projects located anywhere in the world, AIA Peconic members assigned to the chapter who may submit projects within the chapter's geographic boundaries, and any registered architects who may submit projects within the chapter's geographic boundaries. Projects that have previously won an AIA Peconic award are not eligible. Awards will be given at the discretion of the jury, including Honor Awards, Merit Awards, Juror Awards, and a People's Choice Award voted on by guests at the January 11, 2020 Design Award Recognition event.

Submissions must be completed online and include a written project outline description (500 words or less) addressing how the project addresses issues of time and place, up to 15 high-resolution images (.jpeg or .pdf at 300 dpi) including a site plan with a north arrow, and a 30" x 40" foam board (1/8" thick, anonymous, oriented vertically or horizontally). Boards must be delivered to ZOH Architects no later than December 12, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. All submissions must be received by 5:00 p.m. on October 25, 2019.
