About This Call

The Center for Contemporary Arts is hosting its 4th Annual National Juried Art Show & Competition (CCAN). This national competition is open to all artists 21 years of age and over. All work must be original, produced within the last three years, and not previously shown at the Center for Contemporary Arts. The digital image submitted must match the piece delivered if selected.

Accepted media includes oil, watercolor, scratchboard, acrylic, gouache, alkyd, tempera, mixed media, pastel, pencil, pen & ink, aquatint, bronze, wood, ceramic, photography, fiber, and digital art. Wall-mounted 2D work should not exceed 48" in the longest dimension. 3D wall-hung work cannot exceed 48 x 48". Freestanding indoor work cannot exceed 3 feet in any dimension with a 50 lb weight limit. Submissions require 1-3 images and optionally up to 3 videos. Entry fee is $35 for one image with additional entries at $20 each (limit 3 total). All submissions must be made through CaFE.

Selected artwork must be hand-delivered or shipped to the CCA by October 9, 2020. The exhibition runs October 22 – December 11, 2020, with a public reception on October 24 from 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Awards include Best of Show ($1,500), Jurors Award ($750), Merit Award ($500), and 1st Place awards ($500 each) in multiple categories. The CCA retains 20% of any artwork sold, with 80% going to the artist. Juror is Thomas Motley, a Dallas/Fort Worth-based painter and Professor Emeritus of Art and Art History at Richland College.
