2020 California Open

The 15th Annual 2020 California Open is a national juried competition celebrating contemporary and modern art. Artists residing in the United States who are 18 years or older may submit Computer Art, Drawing, Mixed Media, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, and Video works for consideration. Accepted work will be exhibited at TAG Gallery from September 9–October 1, 2020 and featured online. All work will be for sale.

TAG Gallery is an artist-owned gallery collective featuring artists from Southern California, located on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles' Miracle Mile district. The juror is Kate Mothes, founder and curator of Young Space and Co-founder/Editor of Dovetail Magazine.

Awards: First Place $1,000, Second Place $500, Third Place $250, and three Honorable Mentions. Entry fee is $50 for the first three entries, with additional entries at $10 each (maximum six entries). Work samples must include a minimum of 3 and maximum of 6 total samples (images, audio, or video combined). Entries are limited to a maximum of six works completed since 2015 and not previously shown at TAG Gallery. All work must be original and available for sale. Hanging works are limited to 60" height and 40" width including frame and may not exceed 30 pounds per unit. Sculptures are limited to 48" height x 20" depth and may not exceed 40 pounds including the base. Video work may not exceed 10 minutes in length and must automatically loop or play for a continuous 7 hours. TAG Gallery retains a 50% commission on sales during the exhibition and 30 days subsequent to the close of the exhibition. Results of jurying will be emailed after August 15, with accepted artists list posted on the website after August 18.
