2020 Blue Whole Gallery 3D Show

The Blue Whole Gallery is an artists' co-op located in downtown Sequim on the Olympic Peninsula. This juried competition invites three-dimensional artwork for exhibition in the gallery windows for one month.

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 or older and living within traveling distance of the gallery. Only original three-dimensional works created within the past two years are accepted. Acceptable media include wood sculpture, carving, turning, gourds, found objects, metal, fiber art sculpture, ceramics, clay, driftwood, and stone. Items not accepted include jewelry, quilts, fiber wall hangings, taxidermy, 3D photography, computer-generated models, and wall hangings. Current Blue Whole Gallery members are not eligible. Artwork must not exceed 36 inches in height, 24 inches on the longest side, and 50 pounds in weight. All works must be original, for sale, and properly finished.

Entry fees are $25 for one piece or $35 for two pieces (limit 2 entries per person). Submissions are online only via CallForEntry.org. Images must be JPEG or JPG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, with file size under 5 MB. Up to two views of each entry may be submitted. Accepted artists will be notified by December 1, 2019. Artwork delivery is December 28-29, 2019 between 11 AM and 3 PM. The exhibition runs January 3-31, 2020, with an artist's reception on January 3. Artwork pickup is February 1, 2020 between 10 AM and 5 PM. Awards include First Place (6-month honorable membership valued at $351), Second Place ($200), Third Place ($100), Honorable Mention (ribbon), and People's Choice (additional one-month display valued at $58.50). The gallery retains a 25% commission from all works sold.
