2020 Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale

Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute invites artists with disabilities to submit artwork to participate in the 56th Art of Possibilities Art Show & Sale. First created as a way to provide a forum for the creative talents of people with disabilities, the art show offers a unique opportunity for artists to showcase and sell their art as well as a way to promote all of the community based programs of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute.

Eligibility: All artists with a disability causing physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more major daily life activities are eligible. Art must be the original work of the artist and created within the past three years. Artist must have a disability at the time of art creation. Submissions are limited to two entries per artist. Artwork must not exceed 36 inches in any one direction and must not exceed 20 pounds. Sculpture must not be larger than 10 inches deep and 30 inches tall. No unfired clay sculptures or crafts, anatomical/graphic nude art, or previous entries are accepted. Art must be for sale at a fair market price, with any entry priced over $2,000 not accepted. Artwork must be finished for hanging with an attached wire hanger at minimum 6 inches wide.

Art categories include: Graphic (printmaking, charcoal, ink, computer design, pastels, colored pencil), Mixed Media, Oils and Acrylics, Photography (color and black and white), Sculpture (relief, ceramics, woodcarving, metal, jewelry, clay and stone), and Watercolor (watercolor, alcohol inks). A 500-word or less artist biography must be submitted with each entry. The jury process occurs in two phases: Phase 1 reviews digital JPEG images to select original framed art, and Phase 2 is an in-person jury of accepted artwork. All art must be received by March 20, 2020. Artwork may be shipped (with paid return label) or hand-delivered to 3915 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN 55422 between March 16-20, 9 AM-4 PM. Opening night is April 23, 2020, with show dates April 24-May 21, 2020. Unsold hand-delivered artwork must be picked up May 20-22, 9 AM-4 PM; artwork not picked up by June 15 will be donated to the institute's permanent collection. Awards include a $500 cash award for Best of Show, and first, second, third, and honorable mention ribbons in all categories ($250, $175, $125, and $100 respectively). Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute retains 25% of the selling price. Payments for sold artwork will be issued in July 2020.
