2020 Annual Artist Review

Artistry is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in the Bloomington Center for the Arts that presents approximately seven exhibitions annually in each the Inez Greenberg Gallery and the Atrium Gallery, showcasing artistically excellent artwork in a variety of media and styles.

Emerging and established artists, artist groups, and exhibit curators residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin who are 18 years or older are invited to submit proposals for the 2022 exhibition program. All proposals must be received by March 31, 2020, and a $25 non-refundable application fee is required. Applicants will be notified by May 31, 2020 of the curatorial panel's decision. Proposals will be reviewed based on quality of artwork and artistic excellence, creativity and originality, technical skills, and overall exhibition proposal. Selected artists may be combined to create a small group show or chosen for a solo exhibition.

Proposals must include an artist statement or proposal description of 1000 characters or less, 10 digital artwork samples saved as standard JPEGs (1200 pixels or more on the longest side, 72 ppi/dpi resolution, under 5 MB file size), information about each work sample including title, medium, size, and date of completion, and the $25 application fee. An optional resume or biographical summary (two-page maximum) may be included. Group proposals of three or more artists do not require individual resumes but must include a description of the group or arts organization. Artists currently enrolled in an undergraduate level art program are ineligible. Artists who have exhibited in a solo or small group exhibition at Artistry in the past two years are ineligible. Artists do not need to be a member of Artistry to propose an exhibition or to exhibit their work once invited.
