2020 Abstract Only! 10th Anniversary Exhibit

This is a national juried exhibition for abstract art. Maximum of five entries per artist with a $15 non-refundable entry fee per artwork. Videos are accepted with a $3 surcharge per video.

Artist notification occurs Monday, September 14. Artwork drop-off is accepted at Wailoa Center on Saturday, September 26, between 10:00am-1:00pm. Kona pickup is available at the Donkey Mill on Friday, September 25, at 10:00am. Off-island artists must have work received by Friday, September 25, and must include a prepaid return label and $10 handling fee. Ship to: Wailoa Center, 200 Piopio St., Hilo, Hawaii. The exhibition opens Friday, October 2 and closes Wednesday, October 28. Artists must pick up work Thursday, October 29 between 10:00am-1:00pm, with Donkey Mill artwork return Friday, October 30 at 10:00am.

Juror Codie King brings over 40 years of experience in fine arts with BFA and MFA degrees in ceramics. The juror will evaluate submissions based on intuitive interpretation of abstract art and formal considerations of composition, line, color, and texture. Monetary prizes will be awarded. Abstract Only! has applied for the State Foundation for Culture and Arts Acquisition Award Selection Committee to review the exhibit. Works are required to be for sale, with Hawaii Island Art Alliance charging 20% commission on all sales.
