2019 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

Fifth Annual NorthStar National Watermedia Juried Exhibition. Exhibition dates: October 3-November 14, 2019. Venue: Lakeville Area Arts Center, 20965 Holyoke Ave., Lakeville, Minnesota.

Open to all artists 18 years or older. Entry fee: $40 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members or $50 for non-members, for up to three images. Individual annual membership dues are $37. Each artist may submit up to three paintings; however, only one can be selected for the exhibition. Entries limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Maximum size, including frame, 42" in any direction with maximum depth of 3". Framing or mounting is required for all paintings except gallery-wrap canvas finished on all sides or cradled Ampersand. All paintings must be wired for hanging on vertical sides of frame. Work and source material must be wholly original and not derived from any published images or other artists' work. Entries may not have been exhibited in any previous NorthStar Watermedia Society exhibition. All work submitted must be suitable for a family audience.

NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $4000 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1250), 2nd Place ($1000), 3rd Place ($750), and named awards and additional cash/product awards. Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: Sunday, October 27, 2-4pm. Lakeville Area Arts retains 25% on any sold artwork and NorthStar retains an additional 10% commission (total 35%). All insurance is the responsibility of the artist. Accepted painting must be same as entry. If an accepted painting is not submitted for the show, the artist will be disqualified from entering any NorthStar National Watermedia Exhibition for three consecutive years.
