2019 Jan Ken Po: State Wide Juried Print Exhibit and Bowl Invitational

The 2019 Jan Ken Po: State Wide Juried Print Exhibit and Bowl Invitational is a regional exhibition open to artists in Hawaii. The submission deadline is Friday, September 20 at 7:00 PM. Entry fee is $15.00 per submission, with a maximum of five entries per artist. Artists may submit 1-5 images for consideration.

The exhibition will be held at Wailoa Center, 200 Piopio St., Hilo, Hawaii. Drop-off of accepted artwork is Saturday, September 28, between 10:00am-2:00pm. Kona pick-up is available at Donkey Mill on Friday, September 27, between 10:00am-11:00am. Off-island work must be received by Friday, September 27 and must include a prepaid return label. The exhibition opens Friday, October 4, with a reception and awards ceremony on Friday, October 5, from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The exhibition closes Thursday, October 24. Artists must pick up work on Friday, October 25, between 10:00am-2:00pm.

The juror is Margo Ray, a visual artist working in printmaking, collage, and installation. She holds an MFA from Concordia University in Montrèal, Quebec and a BA in Studio Arts from University of Hawai'i at Hilo. Ray states: "In jurying Jan Ken Po: State Wide Juried Print Exhibition, I will look for entries that are strong in both content and craft and work that utilizes the chosen method of print to convey both an idea and a feeling." Monetary prizes will be awarded. Works should be for sale; HIAA will charge 20% commission on all sales. Artist notification is Monday, September 16. Contact: [email protected]
