About This Call
Since 2002, the City of Sheridan Public Arts Committee has invited artists from across the country to participate in the On Loan Program. Submissions are due January 15, 2019. You may submit up to five pieces of art. The SPAC will jury the work and inform artists by February 15, 2019. Accepted art must be delivered to Sheridan prior to April 20, 2019, unless alternative arrangements are made with the Committee. If your work is accepted, the SPAC will pay a $1,000 honorarium per piece. Sculptures will be on display from April 2019 until April 2020.
Sculptures will be exhibited outdoors and must meet specific requirements to be considered for display. Works must be sufficiently durable with a minimum height of 16 inches. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. As part of the loan agreement, sculptures will be available for sale. If sold, the SPAC will earn a 25% commission on the sale.
Artists are invited and encouraged to attend the 2019 Celebrate the Arts activities from April 25 through April 29, 2019, which includes the introduction of the 2019 On Loan Sculptures, performances by the Kingston Trio at the Wyo Theater, musical performances at the Whitney Center for the Arts, and gallery openings at Sage Community Arts, the Ucross Foundation, and the Whitney Center for the Arts.
Work sample requirements: 1-6 images and 0-1 video per application. Each application represents one artwork.
