2019 Fechin Juried Members Small Works Show

The 2019 Fechin Juried Members Small Works Show is a juried exhibition of original two-dimensional plein air artworks presented by the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) and hosted by Taos Art Museum at Fechin House in Taos, New Mexico. The exhibition runs Tuesday July 2 – August 4, 2019, with an opening reception on Saturday, July 6, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This call is open only to current paid PAPNM members. Fifty works will be selected for exhibition.

Eligibility requirements: Artists must be paid PAPNM members working in two-dimensional media limited to oil (traditional and water-mixable), wet media (acrylic, watercolor, gouache), and dry media (pastel). Only original plein air artworks are eligible; all work must be at least 80% completed en plein air and produced within the last two years (2018 and 2019). Work done under instructor guidance is not eligible. Works previously shown in PAPNM juried member exhibitions are not eligible. Artwork must be within size specifications: minimum 48 square inches unframed (6"x8"), maximum 80 square inches unframed (8"x10"). All artwork must be available for sale with a minimum retail price of $300.

Entry requirements: Members may submit up to two images through CallForEntry for jury selection, but only one artwork may be selected for exhibition. Entry fee is $45 (non-refundable). All entries must be submitted through CallForEntry by Friday June 7, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Artists will receive notification of acceptance or decline by email on Monday June 17, 2019. Delivered works must be professionally presented, suitably framed, and ready to hang with D-rings and wire. The image submitted and approved by jurors must exactly match the delivered artwork. PAPNM will send payment to artists for artwork sold at 50% of the sale price within 30 days of the close of the exhibition. Images of exhibited paintings will be showcased on PAPNM's website at www.papnm.org and on Taos Art Museum's website at www.taosartmuseum.org.
