2019 Contemporary Art Survey

The Fort Collins Lincoln Center invites visual artists residing in the US to enter the national juried Contemporary Art Survey Exhibition with guest juror Kim Dickey. This is an open call to artists working in all media. The exhibition seeks works in all media and genres that present a survey of contemporary art in America. Representational, abstract, and conceptual work will be considered. Artists may submit up to three different artworks in any combination of media, including small installations (up to 12'h x 6'w x 6'd) and video. Each submission requires a $35 non-refundable entry fee.

Guest juror Kim Dickey is an artist and professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder with an MFA from Alfred University and BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She has exhibited in museums including MASS MoCA, the Everson Museum of Art, the Museum of Arts and Design, and the Contemporary Art Museum Honolulu. She has created permanent installations at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, The Lab at Belmar, and the Denver International Airport, and has participated in invitationals internationally.

Eligibility: Artists 18 years and older whose primary residence is in the United States. Entries must be original work completed in the past two years (since April 2017) and not class assignments. Artworks submitted from previous Lincoln Center calls will not be sent to the juror. Awards: $1,750 in cash prizes—Grand Prize $1,000, Second Place $500, Third Place $250. Exhibition dates: May 28 - July 13. Notification to artists: Week of April 22. Artwork delivery: May 13-17 (shipped) or Tuesday, May 21, 1-5 p.m. (hand delivery). Reception and Awards Presentation: Friday, May 31, 5:30-7:00 p.m. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping. Lincoln Center will insure artworks for their insurance or retail value while on premises. Lincoln Center retains a 30% commission on all sales made as a result of the exhibition.
