About This Call
Artistry, a multi-discipline non-profit arts organization based in Bloomington, MN, is accepting exhibit proposals for their 2021 exhibition program year. Emerging and established artists and artist groups residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin who are 18 years or older are invited to submit proposals. All visual art mediums are eligible with the exception of film/video. The application deadline is March 31, 2019, and a $20 non-refundable application fee is required. Applicants will be notified by May 31, 2019 of the curatorial panel's decision.
Proposals must include an artist statement or proposal description of 1000 characters or less, 10 digital artwork samples saved as standard JPEG files (1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB file size), information about each work sample including title, medium, size, and date of completion, and an optional resume or biographical summary (two-page maximum). Group submissions must include the artist name in the description area of each image and a description of the group or arts organization. Artistry's curatorial panel will review and select applicants based on artistic excellence, creativity and originality, technical skills, and overall exhibition proposal.
Eligibility restrictions: Artists currently enrolled in an undergraduate level art program are ineligible. Artists who have exhibited in a solo or small group exhibition at Artistry in the past two years are ineligible. Artists do not need to be members of Artistry to propose an exhibition. Selected artists may be combined to create a small group show or chosen for a solo exhibition. Each year Artistry presents approximately seven exhibitions in each the Inez Greenberg Gallery and the Atrium Gallery.
