About This Call
This is a juried exhibition for abstract multimedia work. Maximum of five entries per artist with a $15 non-refundable entry fee per artwork. An additional $15 media fee applies, with a $3 surcharge per video submission.
Work must be intrinsically abstract (non-representational, non-objective, or non-figurative). The juror, Philippe Nault, will evaluate submissions based on substance, inherent force, and sound craftsmanship. Awareness of practical manipulation and installation requirements is important.
Submission deadline is Friday, July 12 at 5:59 p.m. MDT. Artist notification occurs Monday, July 15. Artwork drop-off at Wailoa Center is Saturday, July 27, 10:00am-2:00pm. Kona pickup is available Friday, July 26, 10:00am-11:00am. Off-island submissions must be received by Friday, July 26 with prepaid return label. The exhibition opens Friday, August 2 with a reception and awards ceremony 5:00pm-7:00pm, and closes Thursday, August 29. Artists must pick up work Friday, August 30, 10:00am-2:00pm. Monetary prizes will be awarded. Works should be for sale; HIAA charges 20% commission on all sales.
