2019-2020 Lone Tree Commissioners' Choice Exhibitions

The Commissioners' Choice program is an artist invitational providing exhibition opportunities at the Lone Tree Arts Center. The Lone Tree Arts Commission supports emerging and professional Colorado-based artists by providing a venue to display their work in a public setting. This call is for two exhibits: one beginning in mid-July through early-September 2019 and one beginning in early-January through early-March 2020.

Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for solo and/or group exhibits that demonstrate high artistic quality, a clear artistic or thematic voice, and a compelling vision. The Lone Tree Arts Center exhibit space is conducive mainly to two-dimensional work; there is limited ability to exhibit sculpture, clay or other large three-dimensional work. Typical Commissioners' Choice exhibits showcase between 25–40 works throughout the Arts Center lobby.

Proposals must include an artist/concept statement for the exhibition (500 words maximum), a resume for each artist to be in the exhibit including website address, exhibition history, gallery experience, awards and/or reviews, and 10–20 professionally photographed digital images formatted to Café guidelines. An annotated exhibition checklist may be requested for presentation to the Lone Tree Arts Commission and City Council. Entry fee is $20.00. The deadline to submit for both exhibits is Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
