2018 Western Trappings on the Llano

A juried, international exhibit and sale of custom gear and original Western art held at the Llano County Historical Museum from October 19 to November 3, 2018. The exhibit promotes Western culture and heritage and celebrates artists who have captured the grandeur of the West. All work displayed will be for sale to the public for the duration of the exhibit.

Open to all artists and gear makers. Contemporary and traditional styles are welcomed, with particular encouragement for paintings and artwork showing Western lifestyles or landscapes of the Texas Hill Country. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work are accepted, including paintings, sculptures, silver work, jewelry, leather work, spurs, bits, and buckles. Two-dimensional work cannot exceed 44 inches in its largest dimension. Three-dimensional work must be no more than 84 inches tall with no more than 20 square feet of footprint and maximum weight of 200 pounds. Artists may submit up to 3 works of art. All work must be original and for sale.

Entry fee is $25 for the first piece and $15 for each additional piece (up to 2 additional). Applications and professional quality digital images must be received by July 1, 2018. Submit applications and images through www.callforentry.org or www.westerntrappings.com. Acceptance notifications will be sent between July 15 and August 1, 2018. Artists selected into the exhibit must donate one work of equal quality but lesser retail value to be sold at a live auction on October 20, 2018, or donate $200. Trappings charges a 15% commission on all exhibit sales. Artists receive 30% commission on auction items sold for amounts over $200. Contact: [email protected] or [email protected].
