About This Call

The 33rd Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition is open to all artists 18 and older living in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Sponsored by the Irving Art Association and Irving Arts Center, the exhibition will take place at the Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd., Irving TX 75062.

Entry fee is $40 for up to 3 entries per artist ($35 for Irving Art Association members). Artists may submit 1-3 digital JPEG images (72 DPI, minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, maximum 5MB file size). Accepted works must be two-dimensional originals completed within the last two years in one of five categories: Oil painting, Acrylic, Water Media (watercolor, casein, gouache), Mixed Media (two or more mediums, collage, hand-pulled prints), or Drawing (dry media including pastel, colored pencil, graphite, ink, and others). Works must be between 12-50 inches in either dimension (minimum 144 square inches). Ineligible works include computer-generated, photographic, offset printed, collaborative, and previously accepted works. The juror will select 70-75 artworks. Entrants will be notified of acceptance by March 6.

The exhibition runs May 12 - June 9, 2018. Hand deliveries are Saturday, March 31, 10 am - 3 pm. The Juror talk and reception is Saturday, March 31, 7-9 pm. The Reception and Awards Ceremony is Sunday, May 20, 2-5 pm. Juror is Lyle Novinski, Professor Emeritus of Art at the University of Dallas. Total prizes are $9,000, including Best of Show ($1,500), IAC Award of Excellence ($1,000), and category awards (1st $500, 2nd $400, 3rd $300, Honorable Mention $100). Artists with five paintings exhibited earn TxN Signature Status, which includes a medal, certificate, and listing on the TxN website.
