About This Call
The School of Photographic Arts and Sciences invites all undergraduate and graduate students to submit up to two pieces of creative work to the 2018 Annual Student Honors Show. Students may present work created for any photo school course, including final projects, since the end of the last academic year (spring semester 2017). Faculty will jury student entries electronically using the Call For Entry (CaFÉ) website.
Submissions are open from April 2 through April 6, 2018. Students must register at https://www.callforentry.org/index.php and upload a portfolio of no more than two images. Work produced by a team of students may be entered if other photo students are part of the production team and the work has been made for a photo course. Contact Nanette Salvaggio for guidance on team entries prior to registration. Members of a team may also submit work under their own name by registering as an individual student.
Accepted submissions must be submitted in JPEG format only, with file dimensions no smaller than 1200 pixels on the longest side, 72ppi resolution, and maximum 5MB file size in sRGB color space. Series may consist of two or three related images placed in a single file. Books should be submitted as a JPEG of the title/cover page with a watermark indicating it is a book; contact Nanette Salvaggio to drop off the physical book for judging. Videos must be hosted on Vimeo or YouTube with the URL entered in the description dialog box and a JPEG title image uploaded to the portfolio page.
Selected work will be notified via email on April 16. Printed pieces must be turned in for display on April 23. All selected photographs must be mounted or framed unless an appropriate reason is given to install the work differently in the William Harris Gallery. Work may be selected for Purchase Prizes, with winners announced at the opening of the Student Honors Show on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. The traditional Purchase Prize amount is $150. If work is not for sale, enter a price of $0 when uploading media samples. Contact Nanette Salvaggio at [email protected] with additional questions.
