2018 Sheridan WY Downtown Juried Sculpture Exhibit

Since 2002, the City of Sheridan has invited artists both in and out of state to participate in its public arts program. Over the past 15 years, Sheridan has acquired over 60 permanent sculptures for parks and the downtown area.

Submissions are due January 1, 2018. The SPAC will jury the work and notify artists by February 1, 2018. All accepted artists are invited to a reception in participation with Celebrate the Arts in Sheridan from April 27 - May 1, 2018. If the reception cannot be attended, all accepted work must be scheduled and delivered to Sheridan between May 1st and June 1st of 2018. Sculptures will be on display from June 1st of 2018 through May 15th of 2019.

You may submit up to five applications (one artwork per application). If your work is accepted, the SPAC will pay a $1,000 honorarium per piece. All entries will be considered for the City of Sheridan Mayor's Choice Award and the People's Choice Award, each with a $250 cash prize. As part of the loan agreement, the SPAC will actively market your work while on display. If your sculpture is sold, the SPAC takes a 25% commission. Sculptures must be sufficiently durable with a minimum height of 16 inches and will be exhibited outdoors. Fragile, dangerous, or inappropriate works will not be accepted. Submit 3 to 6 images and up to 1 video per application.
