2018 NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

Fourth Annual NorthStar National Watermedia Juried Exhibition held at White Bear Center for the Arts, 4971 Long Avenue, White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Exhibition dates: September 10–October 18, 2018. Entry deadline: Midnight, July 1, 2018.

Open to all artists 18 years or older. Artists may submit up to three paintings, but only one can be selected for the exhibition. Entry fees: NorthStar Watermedia Society members $40, non-members $50 for up to three images. Individual annual membership dues are $35. Work must be suitable for a family audience and completed after January 1, 2016. Entries limited to paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. No pastel, oil pastel, wax crayon, water soluble oil, alcohol inks, computer generated images, or print reproductions accepted. Work and source material must be wholly original. Maximum size including frame 42" in any direction with 3" maximum depth. Minimum image size 80 square inches. All paintings must be framed and wired for hanging; no saw tooth hangers allowed. Work may not be withdrawn before close of exhibition.

Juror: Rachel Daly, Visual Arts Program Director of Artistry in Bloomington, Minnesota. NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $4000 in cash and non-cash prizes, including Best of Show $1250, 2nd Place $1000, and 3rd Place $750. Artist Reception and Awards Ceremony: Thursday, September 13, 6:30-8:30pm. Educational Presentation: Sunday, September 23, 2-4pm. White Bear Center for the Arts retains 20% commission on sales; NSWS retains 15% commission (35% total). All insurance responsibility of the artist.
