About This Call
The Wickford Art Association's 2018 National Juried Photography Exhibition is open to non-members and members alike with no theme restrictions. Any photographic genre, substrate, process or perspective—contemporary, realistic, historical, abstract, experimental, or futuristic—is eligible. Artists must be at least 18 years old. Artwork must be 2D or 3D with photography as its dominant element, original creations by the artist, and exhibition ready to hang or position. Artwork cannot be larger than 44 inches on the longest side including the frame. All artwork must be for sale with no not-for-sale (NFS) or price-on-request (POR) work accepted. Artists may submit up to 20 images. For non-WAA members, the entry fee is $25 for the first image and $15 for each additional image. WAA members receive a 20% discount ($20 for the first image, $12 for each additional). All fees are non-refundable and must be paid by credit/debit card through CAFE.
The registration deadline is September 5th, 2018. Notification of acceptance will be sent by email on or before September 18th, 2018. In-person delivery of accepted work is October 16th-18th, 2018, or shipping delivery must arrive by October 12th, 2018 (with a $15 handling fee per box). The exhibition runs October 19th through November 11th, 2018, with a reception and awards ceremony on October 19th from 6:30-8:00 PM. Work pickup is November 13th, 2018, or shipped work will be returned using prepaid return labels. The juror is Paula Tognarelli, Executive Director and Curator of the Griffin Museum of Photography. Cash awards totaling $1,000 will be given along with some non-cash awards. WAA retains a 30% commission from member sales and 40% from non-member sales. Artists will be paid within 30 calendar days after the exhibition closes. For questions, contact [email protected] or 401-294-6840.
