2018 Loveland Public Library Art in the Galleria

The Art Selection Committee of the Loveland Public Library seeks art by Colorado artists or artist teams for 2018 exhibits in the Galleria spaces. The Galleria display area reflects Loveland's reputation as an art community. The Library features five display cases within pillars along the Galleria, each with inside dimensions of 69" H x 21" W x 19" D. Artwork must fit within these display case limits, with hanging systems allowing a maximum weight of 16 pounds or in some cases only 8 pounds.

Selected artwork will be on display for one of four three-month periods in 2018: January 1 through March 31, April 1 through June 30, July 1 through September 30, and October 1 through December 31. Applicants must reside in Colorado and may apply as individuals or as part of a team. Each piece of art submitted must fit within the confines of a Galleria display case. The entry fee is $10.00. Artists may submit images of up to six artworks, with sculptural pieces allowed a second image per piece to show both side and front views.

Submissions must include a concept statement, current resume, detailed information on each piece (title, dimensions, medium, date produced, price/value, and whether for sale), and images formatted as specified. An art selection panel will review all applications and select artists for temporary exhibit. A $100 prize for Best of Show for the Year will be awarded November 1, 2018 based on jury evaluation of all pieces selected and displayed during the year. Selected artists are responsible for transportation of their work to and from the gallery. Sales while the piece is on display will be handled by the Friends of the Loveland Public Library, who retain a 20% commission on sales, with proceeds paid to the artist within 30 days of sale completion.
