2018 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition

The 2018 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition is open to all California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska artists age 18 and older. All fine arts visual media will be considered. Artwork shown in prior juried exhibitions at Sanchez Art Center is not eligible. Work must be able to fit through a standard-sized door (80" x 35") and weigh less than 50 lbs. Framed 2D work must be wired (no sawtooth hangers). Alternative display methods may be used with the approval of Sanchez Art Center, and the artist must supply any special hardware.

Artists may enter up to 20 images. The non-refundable fee for each image entered is $15 (i.e., the fee is $30 for 2 images, $45 for 3, etc.). The entry deadline is January 30, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Accepted artists will be notified by February 12. The exhibition features 2 Exhibition Awards ($250 plus an exhibition in 2019) and 2 Merit Awards ($250). The juror is Claudia Schmuckli, Curator in Charge for Contemporary Art and Programming at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.

Shipped work must arrive at Sanchez Art Center by 5 pm on Thursday, April 5. Hand-delivery is available April 5 from 2–8 pm. The opening reception is Friday, April 13 from 7–9 pm. The juror's talk is Sunday, May 20 at 3:00 pm. Artwork pickup is Sunday, May 20 from 5–6:30 pm and Monday, May 21 from 10 am–12 pm. Sales are encouraged; Sanchez Art Center retains a 30% commission on any works sold. Each artist is encouraged to gallery sit from 1 to 3 pm or 3 to 5 pm for one day (Friday–Sunday) during the show.
