About This Call
The 2018 Annual Holiday Art Market (HART) at Foothills Art Center is seeking fine art and craft in all media suitable for the holiday market, including 2-D media, ceramics, jewelry, glass, fiber, leather, metal, wood, edibles, and holiday-themed items such as decorations, ornaments, and greeting cards. This is the 44th HART and will be open through the holiday season from November 15 – December 30, 2018. Admission is free to the public. The Market attracts hundreds of shoppers. Artwork by selected artists is displayed in a festive setting, and all proceeds benefit local Colorado artists and Foothills Art Center programming.
Artists are juried on their body of work, and artwork is accepted on a consignment basis. All work must be original and handmade by the artist; commercially manufactured components, commercial patterns, and molds will not be accepted. Accepted work must be ready to display, with all wall art having proper hanging mechanisms (wire with wrapped ends or D rings; no sawtooth hangers). Historically, items priced between $3.00 and $650.00 sell best, especially items under $50.00. All work must be hand-delivered to FAC November 6–10, 2018, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. by appointment only.
Entry fee is $30.00. Submit 5 to 10 images that accurately represent your work via online application only. Deadline to receive entries is September 9, 2018. Notifications will be sent via email by September 13, 2018. FAC retains a 50% commission on sales. A 60% commission will be paid to artists who volunteer 28 hours over the 7-week period (including setup and takedown). A 55% commission will be paid to artists who volunteer 14 hours during the market. Unsold artwork may be picked up January 3–6, 2019 by appointment only. Artist commission checks will be mailed February 1, 2019.
